1)What is the African rhinoceroscompared to?

The synonym for 'compared to' that immediately comes to heed is 'like' and so I scan for this as well. Indeed, I spot 'similar' in the very first sentence.
- The rhinoceros is Africa's armoured giant – like a tank on legs – and has been on our planet for millions of years.
Does the data given, answer the question? Yes, it does. It says that a rhinoceros is like a 'tank on legs'.
